Today
is my last day on blog duty. Before I
pass on the baton to another group member, I’d like to do a reflection on the
passing week and share my key learning experiences. The week of March 11th-17th
was significant for Genesis group B for four main reasons:
1) There
was a clash between the different personalities within the group and we had our
first official conflict.
2) After
the madness of cake sale 1, we got a chance to step back and analyze our
performance using the 4-step After Action Review we learned in class.
3) We
had our first meeting with our fabulous Board of Directors and this forced us
to really get honest with ourselves in terms of where were are as a group.
4) We
recognized early enough that we needed to do something to address the tension
that was starting to creep up in the group and we addressed the issue by
scheduling a dinner meeting with Ian and Ali.
Even
though the week seemed like a roller coaster of events and emotions, it was
also a tremendous opportunity for us to discover some things about ourselves as
individuals and collectively, as a group. At this point in the semester, it is
starting to become apparent that we all have different working styles/ethics.
And if we plan on succeeding as a team or running a business together, it is
imperative that we learn how to bring out the best in each other and go forward
with a winning attitude. I look forward to the days ahead as we diligently
search for the perfect “green” and “brown” product. And I rest assured knowing
that the best is yet to come. Aurevoire!
